OLI Cutmore rode to glory in Gosport as he retained his national number-one cruiser class ranking at the final rounds of the British BMX Series.

The Braintree Bullets BMX Club ace was second in the national 17 to 29 years standings with one day of competition remaining in Hampshire and he overcame a close call with a rival rider to take enough points to retain the title he won last year.

His Bullets team-mate, Christopher Potter, took two fourth places in Gosport to claim the national number-three ranking.

Jake Coombs rode well in the nine to 12s to take second on the day and in the national standings with Sydney Allen also on the podium.

The 13 to 14s went down to the final race, but Shane Redgewell had to settle for second place overall.

Lana Redgewell took the third step of the podium on both days in the 17 to 29 ladies, while Julian Allen claimed a third and a fourth to put himself up to sixth in the national 30 to 39 rankings.

In the expert classes, Oliver Rowe looked to have the track well under control in the 12s as he rode to third and fifth places on his way to claiming the national number-two plate.

Charlie O’Grady made his way through to 12 years A finals on both days, with a highest placing of fourth.

Seb Pantlin made his first A finals of the year in the nine-years class, a feat matched by Braintree’s Tom Stokes in the 11s class.

In the 15s class, Ryan Hutchinson looked powerful from the outset and he proved his point with a solid second place, while Josh Butson won in the B final before claiming an A final fifth among strong opposition.

Kelsey Dixon missed the first day with illness, but bounced back the next day to finsh sixth in the 15 to 16s girls A final.

Cutmore was again up among the leaders in the 17 to 29s expert class and followed a B final win with a fifth place in the A final.

Julian Allen plugged away in the Masters category to remain in the top 16 over the weekend and Lana Redgewell was up into the top ten of the Championship Women’s class.

The final class of the weekends racing was the combined Championship and Elite Men's classes.

Taylor Andrews was on great form, taking fourth in the Championship class final, before riding his way to his first Elite men’s final, where he took a courageous eighth place.

Overall Braintree Bullets finished ninth out of 63 from across the country to be the highest-placed East Anglian club.
