Sam Walker says there are enough good vibes around the Colchester United squad to help them move away from danger.

The U’s mini-revival was halted when they were beaten 1-0 by Swindon Town, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

They head into this weekend’s home clash with struggling Preston North End lying just two points above the bottom four.

But despite their precarious position, goalkeeper Walker feels Colchester have the spirit and determination to move up the League One table.

Walker said: “There are good vibes about the group, even after the Swindon defeat.

“We’re high in confidence at the moment.

“Although we lost against Swindon, I still feel that we’re moving in the right direction.

“We looked good against a team that’s pushing for promotion and we showed what we can do.

“We’ll take the positives out of it and build for the game against Preston North End, on Saturday.”
