CLINTON Morrison “guarantees” that Colchester United are heading for the Championship.

The striker sees nothing but a bright future for the U’s, having been hugely impressed with the club, it’s facilities and boss Joe Dunne since signing in July.

And he believes the only way is up.

“This manager will take the club where it wants to be. One hundred per cent,” said the former Republic of Ireland striker.

“I didn’t need to come here in the summer. I had other options.

“But I was impressed after speaking to the manager and seeing the facilities.

“I believe in the club and can guarantee that in, say, four years time Colchester will be playing in the Championship.

“The club are moving forward and as long as they stick with manager, and let him carry on doing things his way and delivering his philosophy, they’ve got a great chance.

“And that’s me talking when I’m not in the team.”
