THERE are only a few days left to get involved in the Gazette’s campaign to keep the urology cancer surgery in Colchester.

We launched the Save Our Surgery campaign after it emerged there would only be one urology cancer centre in Essex, after new guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

Colchester and Southend’s hospital trusts are vying to keep theirs.

The bids will be made in September.

So far, the Gazette’s petition has been signed by more than 6,000 people, and this number continues to grow.

We need all petition forms back by Monday and all letters, coupons and petition forms will be presented to Alan Rose, chairman of the Colchester hospitals board.

The material will then be included in the trust’s submission to NHS England.

To support the campaign send us a letter or e-mail us at gazette.newsdesk@nqe.com, with your name, address and telephone number, and why you are supporting the campaign.

To sign our online petition at change.org go to tinyurl.com/ qbcj8cm.

All petitions and coupons should be returned to the Gazette offices at Unit 1 Brunel Court, Brunel Way, Severalls Industrial Estate, Colchester, Essex, CO4 9XP by Monday.
