ESSEX'S biggest festival, V, brought thousands of music fans to Chelmsford for the weekend.
Feeder were the first band on stage at an overcast Hylands Park in Chelmsford.
Headliners are Kasabian and American rockers Kings of Leon.
Other artists on the bill include Stereophonics, Florence and the Machine, Paul Weller, Madness, Shed Seven, Ellie Goulding, Faithless and Chase and Status.
Temperatures will continue to be mild all weekend with the possibility of thunderstorms on Sunday.
Tickets for the festival sold out within 90 minutes.
Those who were unable to buy tickets can watch the action live online, on artists' websites and at www.vfestival.com, which will stream live content from three of the festival's four stages at Hylands Park.

New laws are being introduced to beat the lawless travellers.
They can go to hell as far as I am concerned.
We must IGNORE and Do gooders on their side.
