Witham's MP has spoken out against strike action.
Priti Patel has called for schools, Jobcentres and other public services threatened by strike action today to remain open.
Ms Patel said: “We should remember that the people who will suffer most from the planned strikes are children and the most vulnerable users of public services.
“I would therefore urge all trade union members in my constituency to reject the political dogma of their unions and instead go to work to teach our children and help those in need.”

I don't agree with strike action when it inconveniences the wider public, nor do I believe the public sector realise just how well off they actually are compared to the private sector, but in the times we are in at the moment there is very little other way (besides a complete mass revolution) to make a point heard, and we should not let our government or those with all the money tell those who work hard for a living, pay their taxes, and act like good little serfs, that they should expect to work longer, pay more tax, and get less in return for said taxes whilst the same wealthy people carry on with their lives of luxury.
