A community hall is to be demolished this summer.
Braintree Council plans to bulldoze the Forest Road hall in Witham this summer after no-one came forward to take over its running.
Options for the land will be considered at a future meeting of cabinet leaders.
The council had said no formal complaints were made about closing the hall, which cost more than £9,000 a year to run.
