The investigation into police handling of a victim’s concerns is unlikely to be published before a trial.

Essex Police voluntarily referred the case of Christine Chambers, 38, who was killed alongside her two-year-old daughter Shania in their home in Bartram Avenue, Braintree, to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) after it emerged they had two years of contact with her.

The IPCC revealed that 11 days before her killing Ms Chambers gave a statement to police saying she was being “pestered and harassed” - but its findings are unlikely to be published until after a trial or inquest.
