Fears have been raised about the amount of traffic a waste-plant site will generate.
Up to 404 HGVs could be visiting the Bradwell site on a daily basis, Monday through to Friday.
Plans for the plant were approved last week, but district councillor James Abbott said not enough consideration was given to transport links.
He said: “It’s extremely worrying.
“They will access the site off the A120, but I don’t think the enquiry looked into what would happen if the A120 was blocked or severely congested.
“They will still try and get into the site and we simply don’t believe Essex County Council and the developers when they say the lorries will only use the A120.
“We believe there’s a high possibility that they will rat run through the villages, including Rivenhall, Silver End, Cressing, Coggeshall, Kelvedon and Feering."
