A PARALYMPIAN and an author helped pupils get to grips with literacy.
New Rickstones Academy in Witham welcomed their special guests as part of a cross curricular literacy day.
Neil Arksey visited the school spoke to Year 7 and 8 pupils about his writing and how he became an author.
Mr Arksey is a well-known children's writer and has published books including Brooksie and MacB, a modern take on Shakespeare's Macbeth.
African Paralympic athlete Ann Wafula Strike talked to pupils about living with paralysis and how she became an award-winning wheelchair racer in Kenya and the UK.
