Maldon: Mayor asks which charities he should support

Maldon's mayor is appealing to charities to help him solve a nagging dilemma.

With so many worthy causes to choose from, Peter Stilts, who has been town mayor since May, is appealing to charities and voluntary groups to help him decide which organistations should get a share of his charity fund at the end of the mayoral year.

Mr Stilts, who can distribute the money raised through this year’s charity events to as many charities as he likes, wants groups to write in with about 100 words explaining what they would spend the money on.

Letters should be sent via the mayor’s secretary, Jackie Good, who is based at the Maldon Town Council offices, in Market Hill.
