Maldon: Catalytic converter thieves strike again Maldon: Catalytic converter thieves strike again

Police are on the hunt for metal thieves after the latest spate of catalytic converter thefts.

A £1,500 catalytic converter was stolen from a Ford Ranger in Dyer’s Road between June 19 and 23, while one was also removed from a Mercedes Sprinter in Shakespeare Drive overnight between June 17 and 18.

Officers also believe a Ford Transit, which had a side window smashed while it was parked in St Mary’s Lane between June 19 and 20, could have been a target for catalytic converter thieves.

The device was not removed, but the damage to the van was valued at £150.
