A villager is concerned about the number of black and white cats disappearing in the Maldon district.

Last week, the Standard highlighted the fears of residents in Fitches Crescent, Maldon, where several cats have vanished.

This week, Mandy Milne of Wickham Bishops got in touch because her 10-year-old black and white feline Button disappeared on June 1.

Mrs Milne said: “She never strayed too far away, so it’s just strange that she disappeared.

“I put posters up and contacted all the neighbours and all the vets in the area, but nothing has materialised.

“I just thought it was strange that it was another black and white one.”

Last week, mum-of-three Melissa Surridge questioned whether there was a catsnatcher on the loose after her two black and white cats vanished recently.

I have also been very concerned about the number of black and white cats going missing - Blinky disappeared from Harvest Way in Heybridge on 12th May and several other cats, all black and white disappeared on my estate. I strongly believe that Blinky was stolen.
