YOUNGSTERS from a primary school in Burnham joined the fight for worldwide equality.
As part of Women’s World Day of Prayer earlier this month, pupils from years 4, 5 and 6 at St Mary’s Primary School gave a presentation in church about the challenges facing women in Malaysia and also performed a related drama piece.
Services highlighting the battles facing women in countries across the world took place at both St Mary’s Church, in Marsh Road, and Burnham Baptist Church, in Station Road.
Back at school, the children carried placards, demanding equal rights and justice for all.
Headteacher Geraldine Denham-Hale said: “I was very proud of the children’s contribution to the service. I also believe that they learned a great deal about justice and human rights.”
