Firefighters tackle a thatched roof fire last year
Two people have been left homeless by a fire at their thatched cottage.
Firefighters found half the roof alight when they arrived at the home in Vicarage Lane, Tillingham, just after 9pm yesterday.
About 30 firefighters tackled the blaze and rescued as much of the couple’s possessions before the roof collapsed.
Villagers also rallied round by providing tea and coffee at the village hall.
