Maldon: Public opinion sought on town's Christmas plans

A PUBLIC meeting has been organised to gauge opinion on Christmas in Maldon.

Last year, new community event Making Maldon Magical received a mixed reaction and there were some calls for the traditional Victorian Evenings to make a return in 2012.

The town’s Christmas lights were also described as “underwhelming”.

Now, residents and retailers are being urged to ensure their opinions are taken into consideration ahead of this year.

A public meeting at Maldon Town Council offices, in Market Hill, will take place from 7pm on Wednesday February 22.

Anyone who cannot attend the meeting, but is still keen to be involved in the preparations for Christmas 2012, is urged to call the town council on 01621 857337 or to email townclerk@maldontowncouncil.gov.uk
