A NEW initiative offering advice and support from multiple agencies is set to begin at Maldon District Council’s offices in April.

The Maldon MAC (Multi-Agency Centre) will be a six month pilot scheme hosted at the council offices in Maldon on the first Thursday of each month.

The MAC will include multiple agencies who can provide care, support and advice to customers from around the district in one place, as some may have several issues to resolve.

Confirmed agencies include the council, Maldon Citizen’s Advice, health and lifestyle service Provide, the Mid and North East Essex Mind who support those with mental health difficulties, as well as the community voluntary service.

Bob Boyce, chairman of community services at the council, said “The Maldon MAC is designed to provide multiple agencies in the same place at the same time provide free support and advice to local residents. We expect this to be particularly helpful for people dealing with more complex issues.

“With several agencies in one place, residents can visit us to resolve more than one issue, with less paperwork and form filling. We are very much looking forward to working with our partner agencies to host this service for district based people.”

The MAC will take place on Thursday April 5 from 11am to 1pm. For more information call 01621 875811.
