Maldon District Council proudly announced recently it now has £7.3 million to spend on a flood defence scheme, designed to alleviate any future flooding in the Heybridge area.

As the plans were given the go ahead in December 2016, they are hopefully already drawn up and will be available for public view very soon.

In fact, as the first phase of the new development has already started the residents who will be most affected must be very anxious to see for themselves what exactly will be proposed.

Please make sure the intended scheme will be presented for public scrutiny as soon as possible.

As it now seems it’s taxpayers’ money rather than the developer’s who are funding the project.
