TEENAGERS and parents from Burnham have set up a clothing brand with funds going towards the protection of endangered animals worldwide.

Colin Baker, of Regents Court, Burnham, has founded Endangered: Not Many Like Me Left with other parents in the town.

Endangered is a clothing line which will use funds raised from sales to go towards wildlife conservation projects around the world.

The company is not for profit, the founders won’t make money as significant capital will be invested in conservation.

Mr Baker’s son Luke Baker, and Sam Mardle, both youths from Burnham, are working on the designs and sales of the items.

James Copp, Angus Sadler, Kieron Lang, Aimee Rose, Chloe Donnithorne, and Harry Cooper have helped with modelling, with Joe Gold handling photography.

Colin was inspired to set up the brand after working with the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation in Indonesia, and wanted to create something based within his community to help organisations protect animals on the critically endangered species list.

Endangered’s launch video went live on social media on January 21, and has had more than 4,000 views in 12 different countries.

Colin said: “The big aim is for Endangered to become a brand of the people, and not of a corporation whose branding would contribute heavily on the production cost.

“Creating a brand which is inclusive of all conservation efforts, all ages and all sexes is a big ask, but to achieve big, you have to set out for the big ask.

“The designs of the clothing will feature various artists from time to time to make it unique, and our first artist is our own Burnham based Rebecca Lowman.”

Endangered’s present product line includes a hoodie, sweatshirt, T-shirts and football world cup shirts, priced between £15 and £40.

The aim is to raise as much awareness of the brand as possible so it can become a leading investor in wildlife conservation and help make a difference to protecting endangered animals across all continents.

Colin said: “To make a difference in this world you either have to be an A-list star, multi-millionaire, or billionaire.

“Or, in this day and age you can use the power of the people to make something go viral, and maybe attract the attention of celebrities and others who want to, and can help more.”
