MORE than 1,000 people flocked to Maldon Town Hall to see the Maldon Pantomime Society’s production of Peter Pan.

The sell-out shows, held over the last two weekends in January, went down a storm with children, parents and grandparents alike along with many local community groups.

Written by Louise Markham, directed by Kev Jennings with musical direction by Ben Markham the production was a wonderful colourful adventure in Neverland with the cast, from the smallest chorus member to the most seasoned players, putting in a wonderful performance.

The scenery was of professional standard with the Neverfruit dropping Tree of Truth and the lantern eyed Tic Toc Croc being real crowd favourites.

In addition to the joy of the show, more than £500 was raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The society’s panto is produced each year by an army of volunteers headed up by Chris Patching and Kathy Thomas.

Planning meetings run year round with set building starting in July and a team of back stage heroes giving their time and every year.
