A BEAUTY clinic in Wickham Bishops is set to open its doors after months of refurbishment.

The Mulberry Tree, in The Street, will launch on Monday, in the former home of The Mitre pub.

The pub has been closed since the previous tenants decided to leave last year.

Planning permission for the change of use at the building was granted by Maldon District Council on Friday.

Some of the building will be used as a tearoom and the pub retained.

Owner Claire Mead is now preparing for the grand opening.

Visitors on the day will get the chance to see what will be on offer at the spa and medispa.

There will be live treatment demonstrations taking place through the day including a variety of facials, nails and lashes.

Free refreshments will also be on offer as well as the opportunity to meet skincare professionals from leading companies such as Environ and Elemis.

Claire Mead said: “I am thrilled this day has finally arrived.

“After months of hard work we are excited to show everyone the transformation that has turned The Mitre into The Mulberry Tree – an establishment that Wickham Bishops residents can be proud of.

“We can’t wait to open The Mulberry Tea Rooms in the New Year too, providing even more facilities to residents and visitors to the village.

“I would like to thank everyone that has supported me on this journey so far.”

The event will take place on Monday between 11am and 7pm and will include a raffle.

All profits from the raffle will be donated to Essex Air Ambulance.
