A MALDON choir will join forces with a brass band for a cracker of a Christmas concert.
Modern Essex choir, The Sound Collective will be celebrating “A Great British Christmas” with a concert that is guaranteed to send people up into the loft to get down the decorations and open the sherry.
The Sound Collective Chorus is a modern community choir based in Chelmsford, Danbury and Maldon. It has been successfully running for six years, encouraging men and women of all ages to come together on a weekly basis to sing a variety of different songs, genres and styles.
Taking place in Witham Public Hall on Sunday, more than 100 choir singers from The Sound Collective will be performing a wide range of festive favourites.
Emma Durrant, choir director, said: “With this concert, we wanted to capture everything that is British about our music at Christmas.
“We’ve put together a diverse selection Christmas songs which include chart topping seasonal hits, carols and heart-warming songs that will evoke the sentiment and feeling of Christmas.”
Joining the choir will be the popular 30 piece Colchester Brass Band.
Emma added: “The wonderful warm sound of a brass band is always one of the highlights of the festive period.”
The shows will take place at 3.30pm and 7.30pm.
