A collection at the funeral of a respected and much loved photographer has helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
Derek Argent, who worked as a photographer for the Maldon and Burnham Standard for more than 50 years, died in July.
At his funeral in September £305 was collected for the Essex Air Ambulance and £355 collected for Cancer Research UK.
His son Steve said: “We would like to take the opportunity to thank everybody for their donations, flowers, cards, kind wishes and support.
“He would have been humbled with the kindness and support that was shown.”
