MALDON fire station opened its doors to residents as it held its annual open day.
The station, in Wycke Hill, welcomed crowds of excited youngsters and their families to the open day on Sunday.
The event offered people the chance to learn more about the work that fire crews do in the town and surrounding area.
There were live demonstrations from firefighters on how they tackle fires, a chance to tour one of the crew’s fire engines, and even the opportunity to get to grips with one of the fire hoses.
On top of that there was a meet and greet with the firefighters and a host of stalls to keep people entertained, as well as many other attractions.
The day proved hugely popular with crowds flocking to the open day between 10am and 4pm to get a taste of the work of Maldon’s firefighters and to thank them for their remarkable efforts.
