A CYCLIST has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after a collision with a car in Maldon.
Emergency services were scrambled to Market Hill, Maldon on Sunday morning after a road traffic collision between a car and a cyclist.
A spokesman fore the ambulance service said: "We received a call yesterday at 10.18am to reports of an RTC involving a cyclist and a car on Market Hill in Maldon.
"We dispatched a rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, and air ambulance from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAA).
"Medics treated a man, believed to be in his 40s, for a head injury and serious chest injury.
"He was sedated at the scene and airlifted to The Royal London Hospital for further care in a serious condition."
Essex Police have been approached for comment.
