RNLI and Coastguard teams responded to a person in danger in Burnham.
Crews from both centres were called to assist Essex Police in the early hours of Sunday morning at Burnham Quay.
Teams from both Burnham RNLI and South Woodham Coastguard were stood down on the scene.
A spokesman for the Coastguard said: “We were tasked at 1am on Sunday morning, along with Burnham-on-Crouch Lifeboat Station, to assist Essex Police with an incident at Burnham Quay.”
A Burnham RNLI spokesman added: “This was an incident of the type the RNLI terms a person in danger. In this case a young person was thought to be a potential suicide risk.
“In the event the teams were stood down as they supported Essex Police.”
