MALDON’S annual beer and cider festival is set to return bigger than ever in the next few weeks.

The Maldon CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival will once again be hosted at Plume Academy on Fambridge Road from April 5 to 8.

Since the festival’s inception, the venue has proven extremely popular with the amount of space it has, the relaxed atmosphere and the wide amount of beers and ciders available.

In total, the festival will be offering 60 real ales and 16 ciders and perries, with 40 beers from Scotland and 20 from Essex breweries.

There will also be a Belgian beer bar on Friday and Saturday. The caterers, Essex Hog King, will be there again to supply a variety of excellent hot and cold food at all sessions - including special dishes from north of the border.

The Festival Charity this year is the David Randall Foundation.

Entrance to the festival is £1, (free to CAMRA members) with a £3 deposit for the souvenir tankard, fully refundable if it is returned.

It will run from Wednesday 4pm to 11pm and Thursday to Saturday from noon to 11pm.
