A MAN has been jailed for four months after making a threatening phone call to a woman.
Edward Greaves, 46, of Sceptre Close, Tollesbury, had denied making the call in Maldon on October 13 which resulted in armed police having to be deployed.
After a trial he was found guilty and sentenced to four months in prison at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on March 10.
Greaves was also sentenced for two earlier offences for assault for committing the new offence while a community order was in place.
Magistrates revoked the community order and handed Greaves two three-month concurrent prison sentences for assaulting Courtney Armstrong and Jessica Barton at The Swan pub in Maldon High Street on January 1, 2016.
