A CHARITY event is being held in Tollesbury, where people are invited to come wearing their greatest hats.
Tollesbury Marina will be raising money for Brain Tumour Research through the event Wear a Hat Day on March 31.
Taking place at the Harbour View Bistro overlooking the marina, guests are invited to bring along a bowler, cap, bridal headdress, boater or Royal Ascot special, everyone with any kind of hat is welcome to attend.
During the day there will be a special raffle, and three different prizes up for grabs for Best Hat, Best Outfit and Best Dressed Couple.
Tollesbury WI will also be in attendance, offering coffee, tea and cake to all guests.
The event is part of a nationwide effort organized by Brain Tumour Research, who are campaigning for more funding to the condition.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer in the UK, but only one per cent of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to the disease. The charity are striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research.
The Tollesbury event will take place from 10.30am to noon on Friday March 31, costing £5. Call 0207 247 1120.
