A POP-UP information stand for Essex Dementia Day succeeded in letting residents know about the support services available to them, according to a council.
Maldon District Council teamed up with Essex County Council and the Dementia Action Alliance to support Essex Dementia Day last Friday.
A pop-up information stall was set up outside Blackwater Leisure Centre to let provide advice to residents whose friends or relatives may be living with dementia.
One resident said she knew a friend living with dementia, but was unaware of the services available and was surprised to hear of the number of support networks around the district.
Councillor Ron Pratt, chairman of community services at Maldon District Council, said: “I am pleased the Council supported Essex Dementia Day. It is important more people are aware of the effects of this condition and communities do what they can to support people with Dementia.”
