Here are five activities going on in the Maldon district over the next week.

Dance Night

A dance night to help keep people warm this winter will be held this weekend.

The After-eight Social Club will present the Winter Warmer Dance Night at Cold Norton Village Hall on Saturday.

Dancers will be invited to show their moves and dance to the sounds of Mike’s music.

The club host their monthly dances at various venues in and around the Maldon area. The DJs play an assortment of music from all the decades from when music first began.

The dance costs £8 for existing members and £10 for non-members. This includes soup and a desert to eat, and doors will open from 7.30pm.

While there will not be a bar, people are invited to bring along their own drinks. The dance is a good way either to exercise and be more active, or to sit, listen and socialise.

Museum Outing

A trip to Chelmsford has been organised from Burnham next week.

The trip is being run to leave from Burnham Town Centre next Wednesday to the Chelmsford Museum and Art Exhibition.

The trip costs £5 which includes entry to the museum and local art exhibition but not tearoom refreshments.

People of all ages are welcome.

The trip shall last from 9.15am to 2.30pm.

Dementia Clinic

A drop-in clinic will be open in Burnham next week.

There will be a drop-in clinic run by the Alzheimer’s Society at Burnham Library on Tuesday.

It will offer information and support for those affected by issues surrounding Alzheimer’s and what can be done to help tackle it and live a good life with the condition.

The clinic will be open from 2pm to 3.45pm and is free to attend.

Double Act Performance 

A double act will perform a musical set in Maldon on Sunday.

Mac Theatre will proudly present Kevin Dempsey and Joe Broughton who will be performing their brand new album Off By Heart at the Sunny Sailor in Fullbridge, Maldon on Sunday from 7.30pm.

Join a Fossil Hunt

A fossil hunt will depart from Burnham this weekend.

The Burnham and District Museum will lead a fossil hunt from the museum on Coronation Road from 10am on Saturday for a two-hour hunt around the cliffs of Burnham’s coastline.

The hunt is free but donations are welcome.
