A LATCHINGDON woman is having her head shaved to raise funds for her niece’s physiotherapy.

Michaela Milton, of Latchingdon, will be shaving her hair at The Red Lion Inn, on The Street, next Saturday.

Red Lion landlord, Nigel Smee, and patron, Andy Underhill, will also be taking part, waxing their chests and backs.

All of this is to try and raise money for Michaela’s niece Abbey. She suffers with Cerebral Palsey and, after a big operation last year, is currently undergoing physiotherapy to help her walk.

Michaela said: “It is all for my little niece Abbey. She is a lovely little girl. She has come so far since starting the physio. When it first began she couldn’t walk at al. She can walk now, but it is still a bit wobbly.

“The physio costs a couple of grand a pop so that is why we are doing this head shave, to try and raise a bit of that money.

“We have not set a target figure really but if we could raise £1,000 that would be fantastic.

“We have had a lot of support from a number of companies who have donated to the raffle, and we are also going to have reindeers down here on the say.”

The Red Lion will have donation buckets leading up and on the day to donate, and sponsorship forms can also be collected from the pub.
