FIREFIGHTERS were called to North Fambridge this morning after a large stack of hay caught fire.
Crews were called to the fire on Lower Burnham Road, at the junction with Fambridge Road, shortly before 2am.
Three crews were in attendance from Maldon, South Woodham Ferrers and Wickford to fight the flames.
The incident involved a stack of hay 10 metres by 10 metres big.
After fighting with the fire for almost two hours they were able to extinguish the blaze using two hose reel jets at 3.49am.
