A MAN in his sixties has been taken to hospital in a life threatening condition following a cardiac arrest.

At around 8am the Ambulance Service responded to reports of a man in cardiac arrest in The Leas, Burnham on Crouch

They found the man unconscious and not breathing.

After treatment at the scene they were able to resuscitate the man.

He was transported by air ambulance to Basildon and Thurrock hospital in a life threatening condition.

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service said: “We received the call just after 8am to The Leas in Burnham.

“It came in as a report of a man in cardiac arrest.

“We sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer, as well as the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

“They treated one patient, a man in his 60’s, who was unconscious and not breathing.

“Following treatment at the scene they managed to resuscitate him.

“He was taken, via air ambulance, to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital in a life threatening condition.”
