A BID to change the use of a boat store on Maldon’s promenade into a marine gallery is set to be rejected.
Plans for Cooks Boatyard on The Hythe are to be considered by Maldon District Council’s central area planning committee on Wednesday.
The proposals would see the timber-clad building converted into the gallery or exhibition with an area for boat storage. A kitchen would also be installed to serve barge cruises.
But planning officers say the site falls into a high-risk flood zone and the flood risk assessment submitted was not adequate
