A PROJECT aimed to develop young children’s movement will be coming to the district after successful taster sessions in Burnham.

Monkeynastix helps to develop and deliver sports and exercise for nursery-aged and young school children.

The project introduces a programme of physical activities for children aged between two and eight years.

The Essex branch of the initiative has been visiting schools and nurseries around the district promoting their works, but they received so much interest that they decided to hold a several taster sessions during the weekend.

Caswell Becker, Instructor and Owner of Monkeynastix Essex, said: “After going around and giving small taster sessions to various school we had many people ask us to hold a weekend session.

“The company has been going since 1995 and it feels great to be introducing it to districts in Essex.

“There’s currently nothing in the curriculum of nurseries and primary schools that really focusses on education and development through movement, and I really think we can offer children and parents new ways of physical learning.”

Monkeynastix Essex will be holding seven weekend learning sessions starting on June 11, with the aim of branching out into Maldon also.

The taster session took place at The Carnival Hall in Burnham on May 21. For more details about the programme visit www.monkeynastixuk.com.
