BURNHAM Town Council have pledged to improve their website to better inform the public.

At the annual town meeting of the parish of Burnham on Wednesday April 27, the resolution submitted by John Hitcham concerning the website was supported.

The resolution said: “This Council resolves to progressively evolve its website to better inform residents of BTC’s activities and attract more of them to take an interest in the Town’s governance.”

At the Town Council meeting on May 25, councillors will discuss the priorities of this resolution, including council minutes being published online, and an annual publication of the council’s key strategies and plans for the remaining years of the currently elected members.

They will also discuss a publication on either the council website or the neighbourhood plan website of a fortnightly newsletter recording accomplishments, progress and next step targets.

John Hitcham also said in his resolution: “Moving towards the website becoming BTC’s principal communication medium, should enable details on a much wider range of subjects to be easily shared with residents.

“It should also open up real operating cost savings as physical notice boards are retired as they come to the end of their normal economic lives.”
