TWO people have been arrested after a car chase took place from Maldon to Chelmsford in the early hours of Friday morning.
The chase began at Wycke Hill when officers saw a silver Ford Fiesta making off at around 1.10am.
Officers and a police helicopter chased the car to Robin Way, Chelmsford, where the two occupants abandoned the vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy from Springfield was arrested at the scene, and a 20-year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested nearby after being located by the helicopter.
An Essex police spokesperson said: “The 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink/drugs and possession of a class B or C drug.
“The 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and failing to stop for police.
“They have both been taken into custody for questioning.”
