Iron Man stalked the corridors while Supergirl and Batman patrolled the playground as pupils at one Maldon school did their bit for Children in Need.
The Plume School was among dozens of schools, businesses, nurseries and playgroups supporting the cause last Friday.
Pupils raised hundreds of pounds by dressing up as heroes and villains At Maldon Court Preparatory School, Grace Whitford wanted to raise money for children who are not as fortunate as her.
After hearing about an appeal, Grace decided to make a difference and organised a cake sale, advertising it with posters.
Her goal was to raise £50 for Children in Need but raised £100 by selling cupcakes, brownies and a Victoria Sponge.
Meanwhile, Ortho Solutions, based in Maldon, raised £207. The company, based in Spital Road, encouraged staff to come to work dressed in fancy dress and also donate money through a cake sale.
