A Parish Council has commemorated a bench in the name of a well-known resident who died.
Southminster council dedicated the bench, in Southfield Way, to Daisy Cottis, who was 100 years
old when she died six months ago.
The ceremony was held at 10am on November 12.
Speaking before the ceremony, Parish Council chairman John Anderson said the council was “more than happy” to dedicate the bench.
He said: “I didn’t know Daisy personally, but she was very well known in the village.
“When we were contacted about the dedication we were more than happy to honour the request.”
