A woman was taken to hospital with a lower back injury after a collision with a car this afternoon.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust said crews had been called to Church Road, Burnham at 2.58pm.
The spokesman said: "An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle attended and treated one patient, a female in her 30s.
"She was taken to Broomfield with a suspected lower back injury."
Police attended the scene and are appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Police were called at around 3pm to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car which happened outside the Co-Op store.
"The woman suffered injuries which were not thought to be life threatening.
"The car involved was a red Kia Cee'd."
Anyone who witnessed the incident should call Essex Police on 101.
