A school has applied for retrospective planning permission for its playground.
In August last year, Woodham Walter Primary School extended and refurbished its “dilapidated” playground.
Agent Mark Morgan, of Petro Designs Ltd, has written to Essex County Council, stating: “The proposals, as completed, included refurbishment/resurfacing of the school’s existing dilapidated playground and extension to the existing playground.
“The existing playground was unusable on a large area due to the adjoining tree roots lifting and cracking, causing uneven surfaces to the playground, which became a trip hazard.”
Mr Morgan noted that work to the existing playground and its extension had enabled the school to create a full sized netball court, half size court and space for other games “which is always in full use at playtimes, during after school activities and holidays”.
A decision is due to be made on August 11.
