A trailer has brought down overhead electricity cables.
UK Power Networks has reported that 1,269 customers in the St Lawrence area were left without power when the incident happened at 8.35am today.
Most residents had their power back by 10.08am, but UK Power Networks is still working to restore electricity to 26 people.
A spokesman said: “Engineers are working as quickly and as safely as possible to restore power to 26 properties.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank customers for their patience while we work to reconnect the remaining supplies as swiftly as possible.”
