Residents across the Dengie have suffered a power cut.

People in Burnham and Tillingham have reported on social media that they are without electricity.

According to reports, some people in Glendale Road in Burnham have been without power since 4.30am today.

Marsh Road is also affected.

People in Tillingham were without power from 9.30pm yesterday until the early hours of this morning.

A UK Power Networks spokesman said: "Our engineers are working to restore electricity supplies to customers in Burnham and Tillingham.

"At 4.44am today we were alerted about a power interruption affecting up to 36 customers in the Glendale Road area of Burnham due to a fault on the underground electricity network.

"Separately, a fault on our overhead electricity network interrupted power supplies to 15 customers in the Vicarage Lane area of Tillingham.

"It was reported to us at 7am today.

"We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused and we will be reconnecting supplies as quickly as possible."

Tillingham Flower Show’s large marquee also took a battering by last night’s weather.

It has now been taken down and displays have been moved to the village hall.

The show is still going ahead.

It takes place in West Field, Vicarage Lane, from 2pm onwards.
