Warning over holiday cons
Essex Police has issued a warning about rising holiday booking fraud.
The most common types of holiday cons are advertising fraudulent accommodation, fake airline tickets and false package holidays.
Officers, in connection with the Association of British Travel Agents, are advising people to do their research, look for a recognised trade body logo and to make payments securely, using a credit card if possible.
Victims should call Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
