The Norton in Latchingdon Road, Cold Norton, made national TV when residents joined forces with broadcasting company UKTV to save it from being knocked down in a redevelopment scheme.
The campaign was a success, however, the pub hit hit the headlines again after committee members decided they wanted to buy it outright in 2012 but still had to find £15,000 the day before deadline day.
But they found it.
Now, after 6 years of residents having to donate their spare time for the pub to survive the organising committee has finally appointed a live-in manager to “bring it up with the times.”
Committee member Paul Guppy, said: “This is what we’ve been aiming for and finally we’re there.
“We’ve always wanted to be in a position to run the place professionally."
