More than 400 people descended on Bradwelll for an annual Christian pilgrimage.
There was a bumper turnout of pilgrims at this year’s ecumenical pilgrimage on Saturday, which had the theme of generous welcome because of the warm welcome afforded by villagers.
Pilgrims came from across Essex, London and the Home Counties.
The procession from St Thomas Church to the 7th century St Peter on the Wall Chapel was led by the Bishop of Chelmsford Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Bradwell John Wraw and other senior Chelmsford Diocese clergy.
