A civil servant has started reviewing Maldon's Local Development Plan.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has appointed a new project leader to take over the Local Development Plan (LDP) process.

Planning Inspector David Vickery rejected Maldon's LDP in May, on the grounds it did not provide enough traveller sites, without giving feedback on other policies in the plan.

Council planning officers met the civil servant appointed to examine the process on June 22.

The civil servant will meet the Planning Inspectorate this week and receive information from Mr Vickery about his findings.
