An historic church is marking a major 900th anniversary with a series of celebrations and a grand makeover.
All Saints Church in Great Braxted has recently undergone £73,000 worth of repairs to its spire, which has been re-clad in oak shingles.
The anniversary will be celebrated in October with a service on Sunday, October 18, conducted by the Right Revd Stephen Cotterell, Bishop of Chelmsford.
As part of the celebrations, there will also be a rare opportunity for the public to enjoy a jazz concert at Braxted Park’s pavilion.
Braxted Park, which is more used to hosting weddings, will be holding the main fundraising event on Tuesday, July 7.
The Pete Allen Jazz Band will be playing from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15. To book call 01621 816830 or 892697.
