An open day will give the public an insight into how a Casualty Reduction Unit operates.
The Essex Police unit will be holding an open day at its base in Tylers Ride, South Woodham Ferrers between 10am and 2pm this Saturday, July 4.
Visitors will be able to see the motorbikes, cars and lorry officers use on patrol to help reduce crashes on the county's roads.
Members of the public can also take a turn in a Lotus simulator, meet police dog Boo and find out about Essex Police Museum.
Essex Air Ambulance and Essex County Council representatives will be on hand to talk to visitors and offer demonstrations about road safety.
Adam Pipe, Casualty Reduction Manager, said: "We’re delighted to be able to invite the public to our base to meet the team and find out how we work on a daily basis to police the roads of Essex, improve road safety and detect and deter travelling criminals.
"Come and see what we’re all about!”
